The long-lasted QBasic Forum has been removed: http://www.network54.com/Forum/13959/

This was not intentional but done by a hacker following the alias "Zip".

Idiots.
I can't believe qbasic.com has been using network54's forum for so long; they should have switched to a local custom forum long long long time ago.

Yeah but it's kind of like what you said about forums and such. If the community moves to something that they're not used to (e.g. phpBB, SMF, etc.) they might not want to stick around. Network54 has some pretty old features like non-registered posting.
But I agree that it would've been better.

It wouldn't be hard to recreate that board in PHP but improve security.
From there on, slowly improving things and the community will not get hurt. This forum also has non-registered posting :P

Yeah it is a simple design and would be simple to create.
This forum does have non-registered posting but the Network54 software doesn't have any anti-spam or CAPTCHA features.

Who's the webmaster at QBasic.com? First it was hosting plan fees, second was the forum hacking, and now it's a website issue.

Don't know; but if you ever see a 'for sale' sign or post, let me know. :-P
