Just wondering if anyone has any ideas to improve activity here. I mean I'm surprised at how many people returned but I'm just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for more activity?
Let me know what your ideas are.

The two suggestions the inevitably get popped up are:
1) Forum on the front page 2) Some sort of community-powered code snippets sections for getting around all the limitations for QB. I'm going to go ahead and throw these in while we're brainstorming: 3) Provide a VMware image with QB and DOS on it to help people play some of the games on newer PCs (I don't think Microsoft is going to throw a hissy fit 20 years later). 4) Beef up the libraries section with online documentation references and examples for the major ones. 5) I converted all of QB4.5's on-line help once for qbasicnews.com. Since knowledge is power, why not get a copy up and running here? You could even do different copies for different versions (for little features like call absolute and call interruptx) Anyway, those are my thoughts. It's hard to get people excited about retro-programming. If you give them a leg up, it might help.

You know, I have this one idea every time I post in the forum:
Don't make me login before I can post. Stick a password box in the form so if I can log in when I write my post. |
